Nuri Village offers a solid Korean dining experience nestled in the heart of Waterloo, near the University Avenue corridor. This full-service restaurant focuses on traditional Korean fare, with an emphasis on hearty, comforting dishes like spicy pork stone bowl bibimbap, bulgogi ddukbaeki, and an array of flavorful soups and stews such as kimchi jjigae and pork bone broth options.

The atmosphere is straightforward and functional, catering to both casual diners and groups who appreciate generous portion sizes. The interior is spacious but can feel a bit cool temperature-wise, with practical seating that prioritizes capacity over lounge comfort. This makes the spot feel approachable and unpretentious, suitable for grabbing a filling meal after a long day or sharing plates with friends on a colder evening.

Visitors tend to come for the hearty soups and stews that hold up well against Waterloo’s chilly seasons. The winter specials, like the gamjatang priced attractively, make it an economical choice for those wanting warming Korean classics. Diners appreciative of authentic Korean side dishes will find the variety of banchan a nice complement, especially noted for their textures, such as fluffy potatoes and spicy pancakes (panjeon) that stand out on the menu.

Nuri Village serves as a practical stop for locals craving satisfying Korean comfort food without fuss. The service is attentive with frequent tea and side dish refills, enhancing the communal dining feel. While the seating might not invite lingering for long hours, the quick turnaround and straightforward setup suit those looking for a reliable meal spot in the area.

Whether you’re a Korean food enthusiast or someone new wanting to try classics like jajangmyun ddukbokyi or samgyupsal, Nuri Village is tuned to take care of your appetite with filling plates and familiar flavors. Best to visit during non-peak hours to avoid the rush and enjoy a bit more room, especially with groups. Overall, it’s a place where taste and portion size matter most, anchored in a genuine, no-frills dining environment.

This spot was an absolute gem! A friend had recommended them, and I was a little concerned seeing the 3.9 star review, but I'm 100% glad we gave it a chance. I got the veggie bibimbap with an extra egg, and the dynamite roll, and both were delicious and fresh. Huge portions (both lasted me for 4 small meals). My friend got the black bean noodles and also enjoyed. I also got the Pork Bone Noodle Soup to take home to my boyfriend, and he also enjoyed it across 2 meals. Loved that they gave banchan with the takeout meal too. Service was fast and efficient. Definitely will be back!!

We liked the samgyetang, which had flavourful broth and a big piece of ginseng. The galbitang was also good and had large pieces of beef. The gamjatang was pretty standard, but it was only $9.99 during the winter special! We also liked the side dish potatoes because they were fluffy but not dry. The interior is large, but it was a bit cold inside, and the chairs were not very comfortable. Overall, it's a decent place to get Korean food.

Food is amazing and comforting. The side dishes are really good, exp the noodles. Pork bone soup here is the best in Waterloo. Their portions are quite big, super worth it!

Came with a friend. Ordered the Ramen Gamja-tang and food came super quickly. Service was really nice, offering tea refills and side dish refills often. The dish I ordered was also on winter special pricing which was nice, cheaper than anticipated. The food itself was very good, very hot and very tasty. It even comes with a side of rice so there was so much to eat. Tap to pay available, and will be back again!

Went for the first time and had a great meal. Food tasted pretty good. Portion sizes were generous, especially their fried chicken (would recommend ordering). Prices were reasonable and they also have specials posted in store. Service was also okay.

I ordered the Las Vegas (special maki) at the restaurant today, and it was amazing! The portion was generous, and what surprised me the most was the price—only $13.95. Getting such high-quality food at such an incredible price is just unbeatable. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!

In my opinion the best Korean restaurant near the university. In addition to many authentic Korean dishes, they now have a second menu with Japanese style bento boxes and sushi. Korean dishes like bibimbap and gamjatang are popular and come with several side dishes (kimchi, cucumber, etc). Udon bento and sushi bento are a bit pricier but good quality and come with quite a bit of food, very filling. Servers are friendly and helpful. Great place to take visitors for lunch.

Good selection of food options, decent prices. Very attentive and friendly service. Loved the abundance of side dishes. Food does not take long to come out. The new renovations look great!
